Cupping, Gua Sha, and Tui Na
Cupping, Gua Sha, and Tui Na are types of manual therapy that aid in pain relief for musculoskeletal conditions, increase blood flow to areas to allow for accelerated tissue repair, and enhance immune system function. They can all be part of acupuncture treatments to enhance the effects of treatment.
Cupping is a technique that creates a negative pressure in order to decompress tissues, increase blood-flow and lymphatic drainage and relieve tension.
Gua Sha utilizes tools with a blunt edge to apply strokes of varying pressure to tissues depending on the area treated and the goals of treatment. It can be utilized in cosmetic acupuncture as well as orthopedic acupuncture and for the purpose of immune and general health.
Tui Na is a specialized form of Chinese Medicine massage used to mobilize tissue and enhance the flow of qi and blood throughout the body.

In my acupuncture practice, I’ve worked with people to deeply address:
Traditional Chinese Medicine gives us tools to work on deep levels through treating both what we refer to as the root (underlying cause) and the branch (the symptoms), so there’s opportunity to deeply resolve the imbalances that lead to the symptoms you experience.
Feel free to ask me any questions you have about acupuncture for your specific health goals.
